Default The Great Pantyhose Debate

I spotted a thread on the Fashion & Beauty forum ("Pantyhose is out now?") and also heard of said issue on The View. The importance (or lack of importance) varies by geography just as much as it does age...therefore I want the Minnesota opinion on this "issue". <-Considering that this is the "company/audience" I dress within. (Note, I did not say FOR, lets not turn this into a "Who cares what I wear" thread...)

The original "issue" has been taken from an employer making them mandatory...so lets just ignore that/set it aside and instead lets focus on this type of question:

In your opinion, as a MN resident, what role do pantyhose play or what role should they play?

**For my take on the issue you can check out my post at the aforementioned forum. Also take note that in addition to what I wrote I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to the idea of not wearing them...lol...so long as the reasons I mention aren't perceived as I think they are. (Did that make sense?...)**

P.S. The poll is kind of generic, so please post a note if you like...and if you want to also add your age/or ballpark of it. Also, if you can reply more than once (I'm not familiar with the poll option on here) then I think that would be ok, too. It's not scientific for Pete's sake. Check all that apply! Oh, and men and women should both post!

I personally would rather not wear pantyhose, but there are certain outfits that you need to. Have you ever seen a woman wear a dress suit without pantyhose? How could you possibly take that person serious? And the majority of Minnesotans in the winter are very white and if they aren't wearing them, they should (no matter the length of dress/skirt). It also acts as another layer of warmth in the winter, but are really too warm in the summer. I also detest people that wear pantyhose with open toe shoes. I work with someone that insists on doing this. I think it is a written law somewhere that forbids you from wearing pantyhose with open toe sandles

From a man's perspective I would say that the average woman's legs look a lot better with pantyhose on. Yes there are the 20-something-year-olds with the tanned model legs who can pull it off without hose, but like I say, the average woman's legs look way above average in hose.

It's like make up for the legs!

I mentioned in a previous post that companies like Hooters do lots of reasearch of their customers for "customer satisfaction." Most of those customers are male; and research shows that most male customers LOVE the Hooters outfit (nude tights included). Many Vegas casinos have dresscodes for the female servers to entice the male customers too. No surprise that pantyhose and tights are popular.

Yes, I know it's shallow and the feminists will want to hang me, but if a woman wants to attract men, then wear quality hose.

Large fishnets, small fishnets, panty hose with that line down the back... Those are all good, and should be worn all the time everywhere.
