Or is it a NW Minnesota/North Dakota thing? I hear people from Moorhead and Detroit Lakes say that as well as most native-North Dakotans, but not the people that I've met from the metro area.

My wife's mom in Duluth (Esko) says that too. I hate it.  I never heard it in the SW metro growing up, tho. |

It must be a Northern Minnesotan thing then. Cause ya, Ive never heard anyone say that in the South metro area. |

I have friends in New Prague, Albany, and Blaine, who's mothers also do the "Oh for". We just talked about it a couple weeks ago. I don't know where the parents are originally from.
Do you know people that use "ach"? Like "ach, that's disgusting." That one is huge in St Cloud. (must be German)

I hear "oh for..." a lot here in the St Cloud area. And, yes, I do know people who say "ach".
I'm originally from Pittsburgh, PA (they have their own 'language' called Pittsburghese). I moved here back in 1982 after I met my now husband who's a native Minnesotan. I just loved his accent!
