I am from southern MN, I have lived here my entire life(36 years). I have used the phrase "oh for cute" many times.
When we vacationed in Oregon last Fall, a gal working in a bakery along the Coast asked if we were from MN, so I guess the accent is quite detectable. I kinda thought we just blended in with the Pacific NW. I didn't really detect any kind of an accent out there, obviously that is off the topic of this thread, but any comments on the PNW accent?

Maybe an influential founder was from the real Belgrade?
Maybe the World's Largest Crow was really alive back then and MADE them do it?

Ever read that book "How to Talk Minnesotan? The author discusses this and says it exclusively female. He points out you'd never hear a MN guy, looking at his hands after changing the oil on his car, say "Oh, for dirty!"

Yes, you have an accent. For sure. I am from Wisconsin, but I haven't lived there for 10 years, and I still get told that I have an accent when I say certain words (like Wisconsin LOL). I can always tell when I am talking to an old "neighbor".

Of course you do. Every region does. You just don't notice it because it seems natural to you (that is, everyone else has the accent but you).
When I was in the sixth grade back in California the topic of accents came up. The teacher insisted that Californians indeed do have an accent, but all of us students told her that she was full of it. It was everybody else that talked weird. When I turned 23 I was living in Minnesota, and what the heck do you know?--My sixth grade teacher was right, us Californians do indeed have an accent.
Get out of the region more often and you to will realize it.
