Default HELP! Looking for apartment/townhome recommendations in Rochester, MN

Hi,

I'm a forty-something, single professional female who is moving to Rochester, MN to work at Mayo Clinic. I am looking for some recommendations of apartment or townhome complexes in Rochester. I'm interested in a one or two bedroom with laundry--most important factors for me are a safe, quiet environment (no sketchy neighbors!!) and the possibility of being able to have a pet (I have one older dog). Proximity to Mayo is not as important and I'm hoping to pay $1,000 or less in rent each month.

I've looked online on Craig's List and the Rochester newspaper but since I've found websites and online descriptions to be deceiving in the past I would really appreciate hearing from people who are familiar with the area or having friends or family living in Rochester.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I might not be much help here as my experience has pretty much just been enough to say where NOT to rent. However we did look at one place that we really liked but we have 3 cats and they didn't allow that many (even though they told us over the phone they did). It seemed very quiet, very nice, a good place to live. We would have really liked to have gotten in there. Kodiak Apartments Byron MN near Rochester Minnesota It doesn't say on the page that I can see that they allow pets, but I believe if you download an application it does have the pet info on there. I think it's at least worth looking into.
