Default Relocating to Mankato

Hello, I am relocating to Mankato, I am looking at living in an apartment and walking/taking the bus to employment. What is the best part of the city for this type of living. I am not a college student but a professional and would like to stay out of the college/party neighborhoods. I have read online about it, but would like first hand account. Any input on this city? TY.

Default mankato........

well I lived there a couple years and to be honest if your in mankato, your in the party area... but you can look for the least party activity, you could say. And it all depends on what type of job you are looking for, but I think your looking to live off of, North Riverfront or E. Madison, thats pretty much the business areas. But also is you look on a map, there are some very nice houses and well kept neighborhoods inbetween e. madison and 14.

hope that helped a bit

We're moving to Mankato in a month or so. My wife is originally from Fairmont. We live in NY now. I know a little bit about Mankato. From what I have been told, North Mankato might seem like the best bet to stay away from the party atmosphere. I am not quite sure about the public transportation option there, but I am sure you could do a search for it on Google. I'll let you know what we find as we will be conducting our apartment search in a couple of weeks once we get to Minnesota. Good Luck!!
