Default any suburbs of Minneapolis/St.Paul with nice downtowns?

The usual suburb is a spreadout place with no place central. I think you know what I mean. But I like a downtown with coffee shops etc. Any burbs that have that?

There are wonderful old towns that surround Minneapolis. Excelsior, Hopkins, Chaska, Stillwater, White Bear Lk. and Anoka are my favorites. There is also Hastings, Shakopee, Osseo, Wayzata, but their downtowns are less vibrant. There are towns like Long Lake, Rosemount, Lakeville and Prior Lake that have downtowns, but they are quite small. Burnsville has tried to build a New Urbanist downtowns, but those places never quite cut it for me.

Default suburbs with nice downtowns

edina's downtown is kind of upscale ,
hopkins and osseo's downtown is more like a small town.
maple grove's "downtown" is a huge outdoor mall with some of the feel of a downtown.

I agree with Minnehahapolitan's list--its pretty comprehensive. The only other one I could add would be Robbinsdale (along Broadway).

Excelsior and Stillwater are my favorite downtowns, but I also really like Hopkins, Anoka and White Bear lake

All the suburbs with downtowns have been mentioned but would I consider any of them particularly nice or vibrant? Not really. Try not to have high expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised but none of these downtowns are going to knock your socks off.
