Being a Brit we really can't handle snow very well. A couple of inches and we're all staying off. I heard from a colleague that the snows aren't as fierce as they once were. You still get some though!! Say we had a heavy fall of snow in Mahtomedi how long would it take for the roads to get cleared.
How much would you say your heating bills cost on average in a month like February??
Sorry for the interrogation!

35E and what? Mahtomedi, depending on where you are in town specifically is probably 10 minutes to say 35E and Rice Street. It isn't far at all, easy, easy commute. In the worst possible driving conditions snow, etc. you probably wouldn't be going to work but that drive might take an hour or so but that MIGHT happen once/year, maybe.
As for heating bills, that REALLY varies by the house. Our old house was built in the 1950's with plaster walls, original windows that were in great shape, etc. and our highest heating bill there ever, last year with really high gas prices was $160 but normally ran about $70/month in the winter. This house built in 1995 we are running about $150/month for gas bills this winter with a high bill of $180. Many people do the budget plan so they pay the same year round. We don't do that so in the summer our gas bills are minimal, $10-20 for our gas dryer and water heater.
