Question From Alaska to Minnesota?

Just move here, (Paynesville, MN) a couple months ago and am trying to find out the history of this house I bought. Does anyone know where I can go to research that?

Check with the city or county to see if they have an abstract for your property. That will give you a history of all the previous owners.

Not all property is abstract deed. MN is a mix of torrens and abstract. If you have torrens, you really don't need to care about historical things causing problem with your deed.

either way the new owner will have the data. If abstract buyer will have. Torrens will not have nearly the same data on it. If you were not given the absract you could have a title search done-- should cost 200 of so
