Default Visiting from B'ham, AL

I'll be visiting the honey-bunny, who works in Burnsville and lives in Eagan, in about 2 weeks. What type clothing should I plan on? I'm keeping up with the weather and I know it has been cold...but how/what do you do as far as dressing appropriately?

Well, this time last week it was about -40° with the windchill and today it got up to +50 so your guess is as good as mine. Really, keep checking the forecast-this time of year you can find anything. I have golfed in shorts in MN at this time of year and it has been -60 with a windchill this time of year.

I know, I try to be as helpful as possible but really, the weather is so unpredictable this time of year. This week we are supposed to be in the 40's, which seems warm to us but probably cold to you. The extended forecast shows 40-50's for the next week which means all the snow will be gone in a day or two. This could change hourly however.

Actually, 40's feels good to me. I have a great deal of trouble with the heat. In fact, this whole winter I've turned on my heat 1 night. I've been sleeping with my windows open for over 2 weeks. Granted, I'm temporarily in a little apartment, which is easy to warm. Still, a lot of folks here are cold a great deal of the time. My only worry--this sounds silly--is how in the world will I travel with a coat when I leave B'hm airport tomorrow afternoon. We will be in the 70's.

I would go for a heavy, wind resistant, jacket with gloves and a hat zipped in the pockets. Then I would take things like sweatshirts I could layer under the jacket as necessary. This time of year, even those of us who live here don't always know how to dress. You will see people in shorts if it hits 40!
