schools is on a distinguished road
Default Schools

What are the best HS in the Fargo/Detroit Lakes area (highest ACT & SAT scores, AP programs, etc.)? Thanks.

Also, any Schools of National Excellence or Blue Ribbon Schools in the area?

Any areas that most transplants migrate to?

One place to start to look for school info is a site called greatschools. They have info on standardized test scores, student demographics, student/teacher ratios, etc.

You might also want to google for the Minnesota Department of Education. Their website is kind of cumbersome, but they keep data similar to the greatschools site....look for a "district report card" link.

Just so you know, Minnesota recently revised its whole standardized testing program. 2006 was the "baseline" year for the new tests (called MCA-II), which are more difficult than the previous ones.

I'm not sure if there's a resource to find info on ACT and SAT data by school. (Keep in mind the ACT is more widely used than the SAT in the upper midwest.) You might want to go directly to the ACT website and see if they publish that information.

I do know Minnesota overall has some of the highest ACT scores in the country, but remember that it's not mandatory for all students (it's mostly the "smarter" college-bound kids who take it) so to compare MN to a state that tests its whole population is obviously a bit misleading.

Sorry I don't have specific info on the area you're looking at, but hopefully that helps!
