Hi a2z-

I'm not certain how to answer your question- I'm guessing you are looking for Indian grocery stores? I can only point out a few in the Metro area- I have no idea where you would find Indian groceries in outstate Minnesota.

I would suggest Patel Groceries in Northeast Minneapolis- the address is 1835 Central Ave. Ne. I can't vouch for whether or not this particular grocery is good, but it is in the middle of an area with several Indian groceries and shops so you might find something in the vicinity that is to your liking. My suggestion is to visit Patel as well as nearby shops, and keep an eye out for local newspapers near the front of the store- there may be a newspaper for the local Indian community that would give you a lot of contacts to check out.

Good advice.

Compared to other ethnic grocers (other than the huge pan-Asian ones, e.g. Foodsmart), Patel has a good selection and their staff is very nice. They used to have a REALLY good snack bar / mini-restaurant inside too, but unfortunately this is now closed.

This website has some good information: Minneapolis Indian Community : Minneapolis - ekNazar (make sure to check out this page: http://minneapolis.eknazar.com/YellowPages/). Not sure if there are such apartments in the metro area so can't really answer that question.
