Good Cold morning there GRmomof2!!! Are you staying warm?

I think GR looks quite nice but is Big - to me. Almost 9000 people there, yikes! The over all look of it to me seems very nice in deed. I'll get on over to check it out very soon as I spend almost four days of the month in Bemidji and it doesn't look too far from there.

Stay Warm and Post often!!!

Driven thru there many times. Grew up in Koochiching County, went to college in Duluth.
Saw the lumberjack camp a few times, what's that called again? And of course Judy Garland is from there (or Frances Gumm as she was known then).

Stacie - here is an article in today's PG about one of your locals, Alex Goligoski. He's making a mark on my Penguins this season. Penguins: Goligoski's approach usually not sugarcoated This Grand Rapids kid is going to have a great career in the NHL. I'm originally from Pittsburgh and have remained a Pens.

I'm so glad you put NHL in there and then the article. I was wondering why you would have Penguins. LOL

We do seem to find that our high school hockey players end up going pro. I mean what else is there to do around here?

Forest History Center is the "lumberjack" place. And can you believe Judy garlands ruby slippers are still missing?? Million dollar slippers, so they say.

Newbies! We don't need no stinkin' newbies!

Welcome to the forum.

Tell your fellow Grand Rapidians that it's winter, and there's nothing better to do than stay indoors and read city-data.com forums. Heck, even in Minneapolis I don't want to go outside and do stuff!

Smile Hi To GR!

Hi Stacie! I'm Susie and I live in the Longville area but most of my business and shopping are in GR. My doctors are all at the GI. I shop at the Target and Cub Foods there.

Nice to see some GR here!

Hi, Stacie. I'm a potential MNer. Considering a move to Duluth. Grand Rapids is on my list as well.

Can you tell me about the area, and what the jobs & housing like? Thanks!
