Default Top rated cities in the US...MN got 9 of them!!

This is the 2008 list, don't know if it was mentioed before. Minnesota got 9 mentions, the only other state to top it was Texas with 13. I know lists are not everything to most people but it's a neat article anyway...

I keep getting reminded everytime I drive in Plymouth. Those banners are getting annoying.

Plymouth is 1st and Eagan is 17th. This was a list of the "Most Boring US Suburbs" right?

The simple fact that Texas got 13 cities mentioned should speak volumes about the list's validity (or lack there of) right there! :-)

This survey must contain some pretty crazy data. Most MN selections are Twin Cities suburbs. Several Detroit Suburbs made the list too. The Texas burbs lining up 13 deep surely brings question to mind.

Gotta wonder what it is that Money Mag finds attractive about these towns.

I would assume it was some kind of equation based on cost of living, demographic data, school test scores, pollution, crime, transportation, proximity to entertainment, night life, parks, bodies of water, etc. The downside is that the list was purely based on data and didn't require these people to actually go live in these places. I would rather live in Compton, CA than Plymouth, MN, but maybe that's just me.

Education was on the list, as were income levels, and affordable housing and several somewhat arbitrary measurements.

Edina, Wayzata, North Oaks, Dellwood, Deephaven as well as areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul come to mind as more desirable than any of the MN cities on the list.

Yeah but I imagine affordability is part of the equation which would certainly hurt most of those places.

I think they should have named the list 100 best affordable cities to live in. Lot of people would say Plymouth is not exactly affordable, but that is all subjective.

When I hear best, I am thinking Caramel by the Sea, Montery, Naples, Hilton Head, Cape Cod, Palm Beach, Hilo ... Spectacular type places.
