You rarely hear about Tornadoes in MN, at least from what I remember. I know next to nothing about Warroad. I now that Anoka's high school mascot is the tornadoes but Anoka is 6+ hours away from Warroad so I wouldn't be worried about it.

There are tornadoes in MN, but nothing like the plains in KS and what not. Nothing to worry about.

Tornados definitely do happen in Minnesota. They're not common occurances, though, so certainly don't be concerned. Kids at schools here have tornado drills, and people learn the basics of what to do (head for the basement, in a nutshell). They can be devastating, but unlike hurricanes, earthquakes, or big wildfires or other similar natural disasters found elsewhere, tornadoes don't destroy an entire region. They're localized. I grew up in MN but never saw a tornado (although I have seen tornado damage, and do know what people mean when they talk about "tornado weather." I know the Twin Cities have tornado sirens - I assume Warroad does, too? You know you're supposed to head for the basement or to an interior windowless room if they go off.
Unless you live in a floodplain, MN is one of the safest places around from a natural disaster standpoint.

No problem. I have lived in MN for 16 years and a tornado hit in Cambridge (where i live) once. So the odds are slim...

According to NCDC ( NCDC Storm Events-Select State)

There was an F3 in Warroad on 5 August 2006 that caused $20m damage: NCDC: Event Details
