Default Town/village to tour

My uncle/aunt are visiting my place in Minneapolis, they wish to tour a small village (a typical farmlands). More like an American village

Can anyone suggest me the nearest one to Minneapolis (about 60-70 miles travel distance)

If they want to see farms, I seem to recall that the drive out to New Ulm was pretty scenic (Highway 212 to 5 to 15). New Ulm is a nice town town, with a brewery to tour. I don't recall the towns though, they were too typical!

If you wanted to add more scenery, you could drive along county roads east of Faribault and make your way past the farms over to Wabasha or Lake City (for Lake Pepin and the bluffs along the Mississippi).

Western Wisconsin around Ellsworth and Spring Valley also has nice farmland.

What size village? Where are your parents coming from. If you want REALLY small, 200 people small, try Nerstrand (between Northfield and Faribault). There isn't much to see there but they have a really good meat market. If you want something in the 2000 people range try Kenyon. Stillwater and Red Wing would be nice if you want something in the 10,000-15,000 people range.

X 2 on New Ulm. A lot of old German Heritage and could go out to the old Harkin Store and Schells Brewery if they are in to that. The travel down is rolling farm hills and siloes the whole way pretty much.
