Default Minnesota vs Wisconsin...

Our plan is to move to the Superior/Duluth area in about 5 years.

My question is, in regards to taxes, insurance, car registration, car taxes, cost of living ...etc... which state is better to live in?

Thanks!

It is about a wash, MN income tax is higher, WI property taxes are higher, insurance is lower in WI but not by much.

Not by much is right. Unless clothing is a large part of your budget. Real Estate is so cheap now it's a good time to relocate or buy in general.

Duluth and Superior

I've lived in both. Superior is cheaper. It's also not as nice or scenic.

But in most ways, the border doesn't change much. The Twin Ports isn't all that much different on one side of the harbor from the other.

If choosing between Superior and Duluth, I'd hands down choose Duluth. Though, I may be a little biased. But Superior is one of the most depressing and ugliest cities I've been in. Once you cross the bridge[s], it's pretty much a night and day difference.

With that said, Duluth may be a little more expensive than Superior, but, you'd be happier in Duluth.

The only thing better in Superior is the view of Duluth.

Duluth- A lot of cool historical buildings, a lot to do
Superior- Strip clubs, Title Loan Shops, and Burger King

Lol, in all seriousness, I think it is about a wash as well.

They don't call us the land of 10,000 taxes for nothing . That being said, I know next to nothing about Superior. Hope you're not a vikings fan (if you move there).
