Is this adress correct?
Hello everybody from Germany, (sry for my bad english)
I have a question, I search the daddy ( Paul Hendricks) of my cousin. I found this adress in the old American passport from my cousin.
"Box 290 RT?1 Two Harbors - Minnesota 55161"
I can't read the letter (in the passport) between RT and 1. Maybe you know it there must be another letter? Does anyone know - if that is a correct adress?
Thank you!
Sincerely
Füsun Aydin from Germany

The "RT?1" is probably "RT 1", which is an abbreviation for "Route 1". That notation is (or was) common in some rural areas of Minnesota, and maybe other states as well. The missing character might be a period, e.g. "RT.1".
I'm making an informed guess, though. Someone who has actually lived in the Two Harbors area might have a better idea.

I wonder if it could have been an e, as in Rte 1
I didn't grow up in a rural area so am not familiar with that system of addresses.
Good Luck with your search!!

Yes it is Rt or Rte 1 If it is close to that, the post office will know where it goes as there is probably only a few routes. Grew up in northern Wis and had friends that lived on roads like this.

Maybe more likely to be Rt 61, the main road through Two Harbors. "Rt61 Revisited"

Hi Lennox
I am not from Two Harbors...but I did notice after checking the area that the zip code for Two Harbors is 55616 you have the 55161 Try sending with the correct zip code...who knows? But I am familiar with rural areas and Rt 1 Box 290 type addresses are valid and common...though nowadays they like you to use your 911 given address (street name, etc) instead of just that. Also the Rt 1 part is not correlated with any road highway route just a route number given by the Post Office.

I searched St. Louis and Lake county property tax records for the name you listed. Nothing came back. Not a dead end, but this would mean that if the person is still in this area, they don't own a home.
It is possible that the number 290, can be translated from the old route format. You might try contacting the post master in two harbors.

I agree, your best bet is to call (or have someone call) the local post office. On a sidenote, how old is Paul? It looks like someone with that same name, age 41/42 is currently living in Esko, MN (west of Duluth).
