The worst time to be in Minnesota is Spring and Fall
I have spent much of my life in Minnesota and generally I think the quality of life is higher than most places. The worst thing about Minnesota is the weather. I think April and October are the worst months weather wise. Yes, there are some nice days in both months but in general it is cold and windy.
While the rest of the country is enjoying warm sunny weather in April and October it can be very cold in Minnesota. It can be below freezing for a high temperature as late as April 20th and as early as October 10th. After a long cold winter that can be very discouraging.

September and October are my favorite months in Minnesota. My sister's birthday is October 12, and we always celebrate it with a picnic amid the fall colors at a nearby State Park. I can only think of a couple times when the weather didn't cooperate in 20 years.

...certainly not for people who know that there are other options when choosing where to live. Two years in Minnesota was enough.

I'll take Spring and Fall over Winter any day. Don't mind the cold or the snow.....it's just too long!

Yup, no longer have to experience 6 months of winter, outrageous property taxes and higher state income tax.
Have at it. You guys deserve MN.

PowderSprings...I'm so glad you love GA. I've lived in both MN & GA and have found good points and drawbacks in each. We're currently living in AL (moving back to MN for good this summer) and my preference would be not to deal with a 5600 pollen count in the Spring (150 is considered extremely high)...my kids are miserable and everything is covered in yellow pollen. As for the property taxes and state income tax...we think you get what you pay for. I hope you continue to enjoy all that GA has to offer.

Thanks. My wife and I do visit MN occasionally...in the summer.
PS-my allergies were as bad or worse in Rochester as they are here.
PS-this is our last move too.

I think November and March are the two worst months in MN. October and April usually have some very nice days (this April has been the exception, not the rule). November is cold and gloomy, and it is statistically the cloudiest month here. March is usually still pretty cold and windy, and the second snowiest month.
