So I have a reliable home contractor, a great landscaper, a pretty good plumber, etc. The one thing that I cannot find is that one good auto mechanic that is reliable, honest, and talented.

Slim's Auto in Anoka right across from the ice arena. You're gonna have to call them 3-5 days in advance because they are so busy but it's worth it. My family has been going there for years and they never fix anything you don't want them to and charge a fair price.

Holman Automotive Rocks Eden Prairie
I have used Holman Automotive in Eden Prairie for years. I can tell you the owner is very honest and extremely well versed in any car you can think of. He can often diagnose problems over the phone and does not typically charge for diagnosis. He is very busy all year, so I have learned to not wait until things break, but to get my car in when I have even a hint of things going awry. Mike Holman, the owner, is a true talent!! I should also add he is very reasonably priced as well-I know when I go there I am not getting shafted-just what needs to be done at the moment.
