Default Is the warm weather of past few weeks "normal"?

Well okay den dere.

I've been a-lookin' at dat dere hoot-tootin' warm weather in Minneapolis lately. 70's even! That seems darn hot for such a northerly place.

That's warmer than RI where I am. Okay now but back in January it was much colder over dere in Minnesoda.

Is that warm weather unusual?

Okay den, I'm gonna' leave it at that then. Gotta get to the store for some pop before it closes for the evening, ya know?

Spring can be all over the map. There was one day where it was 85 and that was late April. Typical to see some days in the 70's starting in April mixed in with some cool, windy, rainy days like we had Saturday. Nice again today in upper 70's. June will be in the 80s with maybe some 90s. I think we average about 15-20 days in the 90s and the occasional 100+ mixed in.

Adding to Clifford63's point. The entire years weather pattern is all over the map. That is "typical".

Putting it another way, the standard deviations of our MN weather pattern seems to be higher than in other parts of the country. I don't know if this is a fact but that is my general feeling. I'm not surprised to see 70 degree streak in February nor am I surprised to see a high of 68 in July.

Yeah, I think you guys get some of that nice sunny unseasonably warm mid-western plains weather that you experience in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and South Dakota, etc.

Um, we don't get that here in the northeast unfortunately, except for ONE single warm day every now and then, and of course in the summer when it FINALLY heats up a bit.

100° in May is not normal that is for sure--it is HOT out today-feels good but it would be nice to have it warm up a little more slowly.

They had the official temp for yesterday at 97 @ 6 pm. Checked the other major US cities on the Strib weather page and only Vegas at 99 and Phoenix at 100 (?) were warmer. Think you'd have a hard time finding another day in May that was similar to what that was. Think Duluth (120 miles away) was in the 40's for the high.

Indeed. At my place, it was only about 38 or 39 the whole day yesterday.

Today, at my place it got to about 89. But daaaang was it humid. Very pleasant though. I absolutely cannot complain about the heat. I loved it.
