Question Want to know more about Lino Lakes, MN - School's...

Hello,
Wondering what any of you can tell me about the school's in Lino Lakes?
We are going to be moving back to MN, and want to be around the Forest Lake, Blaine area. Lino is pretty much in that area. How are the school's? My kids are in 8th and 11th grade. Son plays football, daughter basketball. My overall worry's are not sports - as that is just for fun.... it is the kids. Is this a friendly school or is it clicky? Is there much "trouble"? I guess I just want to know whatever you can tell me Thanks in advance!

Default Lino Schools

Well technically there aren't any schools in Lino Lakes for children the ages of yours to attend. They would go to Southwest Jr. High and Forest Lake HS. I personally grew up in Circle Pines and went to Centennial Elementary, Middle School and HS and it was great. I wish my kids were in those schools rather that the Forest Lake schools. As far as sports in FL, good luck. It's OUTRAGEOUS and so political. So you probably would have to deal with that. My daughter plays in traveling basektball and I sat at the tryouts and watched the A team coach pick girls for his team before the tryouts were over. . .he just chose the girls he had worked with before. My daughter made the A team, but when other parents found out about it, suddenly she was on the B team. It was a mess!

Forest Lake is a beautiful area and if you don't mind a massive school for your kids it's not bad. I really like Century Jr. high, our oldest attends there and I have had nothing but good experiences with it. Be careful though because in Lino you would have to open enroll your child because Lino is the Southwest Jr. High, which is older and not as nice as Century Jr. High. We live in Lino and it's great! I would look in Circle Pines personally and get your kids in the Centennial Schools. Blaine is HUGE and you don't want your kids going there either.

I was born and raised here in MN and have lived in Circle Pines, Blaine and Forest Lake. My advice would be to get your kids in the Centennial schools. They are by far the best around this area.

I work in probation for a county that handles the FL school district so I might have a bit of a skewed view of things. . .

Best of luck to you!!
