But I grew up in Chicagoland so that is what I compare it to. If you compare it to Sebaka (680) well I suppose it is very insane. Not to mention anyone coming from any city in Texas knows how to drive in heavy traffic, I'm guessing.

I think "insane" was the wrong choice of words, I'll agree. It's just that there is SO MUCH of it there. I cringe when I hear I'm heading there for business, traffic in Sebeka is a Tractor in your way.
BTW, I lived in Detroit (rule there is go like he11 or get out of the way) and lived in Milwaukee for 12 years so trips to and through Chi-town were a plenty. There are no words to accurately describe the traffic there.

There are just certain survivor skills you need to learn asap to be a "good" Chicago driver. I grew up there and lived there until 30-something but I can still go back a couple times a year and have no fears about driving there. I consider it a badge of honor.
I think a lot of time what I notice in MN is that when people who live out in the country go to the cities they freak out not having a clue how to drive there. Therefore they are bad drivers when they are out of their element.
Anyway, got a bit sidetracked. What I would caution the new residents from Texas about is winter driving - take some time to really learn how to do it. Many people think they can winter drive until they are faced with something that is beyond their experience.

And that includes Minnesotans.
Amazing to watch KSTP News if an inch of snow falls right at rush hour and see all the fender benders and all the cars in the ditckes/medians.
I doubt they are all recent Texas transplants

I totally agree with you and I didn't mean to sound like it was "all recent Texas transplants", or any other transplants, for that matter. I just wanted to let people know that if you aren't used to winter driving take a little time to learn.

I live in a small town in northern mn, transplanted 2 years ago from a semi large city. There is no traffic to speak of here. However, Dh and I have noted on many, many, MANY times that the drivers here are the worst we have ever seen anywhere.

I know what you are talking about; I too live in a small (too small!) town up north. I think the drivers get too complacent.
