Sorry RC Keep those wheels pointed straight. Here we need them because of the winter I guess? Makes summer bike riding seem like heaven.

Grand Rapids to retire. If I limited to the metro area it would be Edina.

If I could live absolutely anywhere I wanted in MN, I would live in a million dollar home on Cedar Lake or Lake Calhoun.
If I could live almost anywhere I wanted, I'd live in Linden Hills in South Minneapolis.
I wouldn't want to live year round outstate, but while I'm dreaming, how about a summer home near the lake near Duluth?

Duluth-its gorgeous With forests, lake superior, and many other beautiful lakes and hiking trails everywhere. I lived in the twin cities for about a year..and what a cluster-there wasn't anywhere to go just enjoy nature and its peacefulness.

There is much to be said for the many diverse areas of Minnesota. Small towns (extreemly) are quaint and friendly and those medium small towns 2000 - 5000 can be both Friendly and convenient. The bigger cities where those of us in smaller places go to shop, like Bemidji, Alexandria and Brainerd are awfully nice places too. Each town has something else unique that sets it apart from the rest. Perhaps not better than but somehow different.
I kind of enjoy the benefits of the Highway 71 cities and towns. From Itasca State Park, Bemidji, Park Rapids, Lake George, Sebeka, Menahga and Wadena, these places are all linked together by a highway with a comon outcome, Friendly Small town lifestyle.
Any one of these places would be nice areas to live and among these one could easily find what ever land farm or home situation you are looking for.
