Default Cabin Rental In Red Wing

I am looking to rent a cabin on the Mississippi river. I would want to rent in the fall for a long foliage looking weekend so have lots of time but having trouble finding something. Cabin must allow pets.

Any help is appreciated.

Jasper

I don't think Red Wing will have anything like that. Red Wing really isn't a vacation place. You will have more luck looking along the north shore past Duluth if that would be an option. If you want Red Wing and that area you will have to settle for a hotel.

Jasperhobbs. Checkout VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner . This is THE most popular site to advertise on if you have a cabin you want to rent. Click on the MN link and you are on your way. We advertise our home in Mexico as well as another home we rent out in Northern MN. It gets a lot of hits. This site is for short term rentals. It is worth a look.

Also, post a "want to rent" on Craigslist.com or look for people that advertise there.

Best of luck!

Thank you for the link, very helpful. Another question and this can vary year to year but when is best time to hit peak fall foliage in red wing?

Thanks
Jasper

Northern MN is different than the Cities which is different from Red Wing. It's best to double check with a hotel in that area and target for a middle date in between the sweat spot weeks. I'd probably even get two opinions from someone down there. You don't want to miss it by a week.

I know there are cabin rentals on the wisconsin side of the mississippi just across 63 from red wing, there's a slough of cabins right on the river- not sure if these would technically be listed as "hager city" or what, but you should be able to find something if you include this side in your search. Lots of fisherman utilize these cabins, and some bachelor-party goers due to some entertainment options in hager city- so if you do end up at the place I'm thinking of, be sure to pick dates wisely if you're looking for peace/ quietude. Otherwise, I think the scenery you are looking for can be found all up and down MN Hwy 63 and Wisconsin's Highway 35.

Another suggestion- Frontenac area- 14 miles south of Red Wing, also on the Mississippi River. There you will find Frontenac State Park (not sure what all is available there) and you could check to see if there are any vacation home rentals in Old Frontenac, MN, a not very well known historic resort town on the river- these might not be cheap but this little town is beautiful, quiet, peaceful- almost feels like a resort village on the eastern seaboard with all of its large historic clapboard homes (and unusual amount of inground pools in backyards) in wooded areas along the river- very unique place. On a recent vacation we stayed in an off-the-beaten path area of Cape Cod, MA and decided if we ever wanted that feel again, we'd make it a lot easier on ourselves and just find a rental in Frontenac!
