Default Monticello commutable?

I noticed that prices of Single Family Homes in this city is a lot reasonable. How's the commute from Monticello to Golden Valley?

I'll be working for General Mills...right now I'm debating whether to take their offer or not as Minneapolis is a hell of a lot more expensive then Toledo, OH where I live right now.

What attracts me to Minneapolis, is the number of IT jobs, it's reputation of being a nice place to raise a family (good schools, low crime).

It's about 35 miles from Monticello to Golden Valley... but the commute would probably be rather rough since, as I mentioned before, the area of I94 that you'd be taking (particularly near the Albertville and Rogers exits) is extremely congested most of the time. I'm sure that during rush hour, it would be very backed up. There are a lot of commuters going into Minneapolis from these far western areas and 94 doesn't have enough lanes to handle the traffic that far out. I'd keep that in mind and try to talk to someone who lives near there before you buy a house in that area... the commute would be something you'd have to deal with every day and it could make things pretty miserable if it's as bad as I think it would be!
