I like Milica often pass through the southern tip of the lake on the way home. Love the pretty scenery and slower pace of the drive.
IN the wintertime with all the houses lined up on the shore waiting to go onto the frozen vastness is always worth a photo.
Great city, great fishing and lots of resorts in the area.
Sorry dont know about the schools but Id guess they are really good beings the town is so great.
Thanks

The city of Milaca has little to do with Mille Lacs Lake.

I thibk you are confusing the city of Milaca with the lake----Mille Lacs Lake.

Milaca is a nice small town. It's well kept and clean. There are some rough characters in the surrounding area. It's not a very affluent area of the state. But that's not everything. They have the same issues as any other rural MN town, with a little more poverty. I grew up about 20 miles from Milaca, so I am familiar with their school district and I know several people who still live there. Their schools are middle of the pack as far as test scores go. Princeton and Foley probably have better districts. But if you go East of Milaca, you get into the Ogilvie school district. I would avoid sending your kids to Ogilvie. Terrible schools! Milaca is 20 minutes from Mille Lacs. Demtion35 is thinking of Onamia.

Thanks for your responses. I'm researching for a family member who is more familiar with northeastern MN.
