Black Mankato Hair salons?
Are there any Black hair salons in Mankato, or within an hour of Mankato?
I just moved from Chicago, and can't seem to find one...

If I went to Mankato, I wouldn't expect to see a hair salon specializing on the hair styles of African Americans because the city is overwhelmingly Caucasian. Minorities aren't very common in Greater Minnesota. The Minneapolis-St. Paul area is where most of them reside. I'm sure Minneapolis and St. Paul have hair salons that work exclusively on the hair of blacks, but I'm not too sure about Mankato.

I know that Minneapolis and St. Paul would have some. Maybe Rochester?

I did a google search to help the OP. There are none in Mankato. Mpls is the best bet.

I think your best plan would be to find a stylist that is black that works in a salon. You won't find a salon devoted to black hair in Mankato-just not enough of a population base there to make it work, sorry.

I agree, either is my city St. Cloud, isn't big enough,wouldn't expect to find a black hair salon here either, i do know of a somali cafe in st cloud though |

There is a black barber shop called "New Identity" at least it was there when I lived in Mankato in May 2009. It's on Front St across from the Police Station.
