Default Marshall, MN

I have noticed on this site that the population of Marshall, MN has dropped since the 2000 stats. I have been there many times and it always seems like a growing progressive community! Anyone know why this drop might be? any other thoughts on Marshall? Seems like a great place to raise a familiy and a few good company Headquarters.
Thanks

The 2005 population is an estimate but Marshall probably did see a population drop then because the turkey processing plant in town closed and many of the workers there moved. A new company has reopened that plant and many of the immigrant population has returned.

Marshall is a GREAT town in which to raise a family. The schools are good, stable employment, safe community where kids can ride bikes everywhere without worry. We lived there for many years and really miss it there.

Yes, I agree. Marshall is like a mini urban area in the middle of the vast rural area of western Minnesota with the University and the bankcorp & schwans. The population actuall doubles in size during the day because of all of the peopel from nearby rural towns that live there. My friend that moved there said they were doing tons of neat things with downtown and building new restaurants and stores on the outskirts of town to. I will deffinatly be moving back there someday.
