I'm a realtor who works in the northern (1st and second ring suburbs) and would say that Falcon Heights, Roseville, Mounds View, Shoreview, Arden Hills and Mounds View are terrific communities with great schools, and maintaining property values. If you like the convenience of being close to the city and like to be part of a tight knit community, check out that area.

Don't hate on the N. Suburbs. There are amazing things going on in Blaine, Ham Lake, and Andover. Check out the development and per capita incomes on the dity data page. You will be surprised.
