94 heading towards Minneapolis can be hectic but its very possible to do. Depending on his shift, other times may be better than others. I had a friend who lived in River Falls that worked in St Paul.

Hudson to Richfield with no traffic is probably 40 minutes. If he commutes during rush hour, I'm guessing it would probably be about an hour.

Why live across the river/border in WI?? I would not even consider this commute unless that is the only thing that will work for you.

Especially with $3.30/gallon gas!!

We would like to live in Hudson because that is were his family is but can not get a job there at this time. But if it is hard to commute we may need to look at other options that are closer. Any idea of good places?

Bloomington, Eden prairie, Mendota Heights, Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Hastings.

Woodbury is a real nice suburb that is kind of half way between Hudson and Richfield right on I-94/I494.

Did I mention that property taxes are TWICE as high in WI? You can get lower cost of living in MN too if you want to live 90 miles out of the city.

How could anyone be happy ("well worth it") while commuting 3-4 hours a day????? What a horrible waste of one's precious time. Not to mention the COST. 180 miles a day! ouch!

Life is too short

Well, if he's commuting to MN for work, I'm sure he could stop in MN for the less expensive gas! lol

I hope your husban dosnt mind living in a car. Rush hour goes from about 5:30 A.M to 9 P.M. In a few years im sure it will be 24/7 traffic in the cities is supposed to double by 2030 no matter how wide they make the freeways because of the super-sprawl/longer commuting times. no one will be able to drive anywhere by then.
