Question New Brighton

Can anyone tell me if New Brighton is a nice city? I seem to hear mixed things about it. Their crime rates seem comparable with other cities though, not significantly higher.

New Brighton isn't really a town by itself. I mean, there's no real "downtown" to it, except for one short block. That's not to say there aren't stores in the New Brighton area, but they are spread out all over.

New Brighton is pretty much a suburb of Mpls/SP. It's mostly residential. Back in the 1950s it seemed far away from everything, but now it's merged with the rest of the metropolitan area.

There are some nice parks in and around the area (most notably Long Lake Park), and there are paved biking/walking/rollerblading paths (that used to be train tracks). I feel completely safe there, but I do exercise city smarts.

Driving on 35W to get in/out of Mpls is a bear during morning and afternoon commuting times.
