don't make waves!

Making waves is fine as long as you have an actual reason, but it shouldn't be the first course of action (IMO). You can certainly believe and behave differently, but don't expect understanding from me (and probably others) if you do

As long as you don't make waves against school levys or new taxes! Be ready to be controlled by the left wing liberials who think you have all the money in the world for taxes or to pay through the nose for electricity! The greenys have control of the utilities here in MN and most people are too afraid or too dumb to stand up for themselves. I have lived in MN all my life (except the service) and have seen the State taken over by outsiders who move to the metro, get power and make decisions for the rest of the state because of thier voteing power....
Don't move here if you can help it, even Iowa is better....

That's funny, most of the people moving here settle on the outskirts of The Cities are are crimson Republican. The state still trends Democratic, though. Most people realize that before they move here. Hopefully you vote, and hopefully there are still enough Democratic votes to override you. As long as that occurs you have two options; and I bet you know what they are.

ohh yes we vote.! Republican all the way just like Minnesota used to be before you folks moved here. And don't think we have lost all our power! just look at the CCW law we got passed. Some folks won't be laughing when the lights go out. Just like Wellstone didn't laugh when he walked up to the doors of hell!!!!!

Spiteful there buddy? Minnesota has never been Republican in your lifetime. You seem to be nostaligc for the 1890s. I have lived here my entire life. Nobody ever loses all the power in a democracy, then it becomes a fascist state. There has never been a Governor Benito here. Just because you disagree with a Senator does not mean he is damned. Classless.

Sorry to sound negative but I feel I must speak honestly. My wife and I have always been ones to pitch in and help people but many Minnesotans do not seem to return the friendship.

Agree, Lil Beaver.

Our family lived in St. Cloud MN for 6 1/2 years then we were transferred to TN for my husband's job. We are originally from New England. We truly miss Minnesota. Yes, we had very cold winters, lots of biting bugs including little gnats, but wonderfully friendly neighbors who are still in touch with us. We'd move back in a heartbeat. TN (Memphis) is crime ridden, too hot most of the year, and has racial issues. The quality of life was far superior in MN for us. (including schools, healthcare, quality of housing, etc). We found the people in MN to be very open to new friends and always had something to do with others while living there. Hope this helps others!

Most people in my neighborhood are willing to help one another out (shoveling, babysitting, mowing your lawn etc. and do not ask for anything in return. I think Minnesota has a great quality of life that is hard to come by in a many places. The outdoor opportunitite are great, excellent schools, and good job opportuntites for those that are willing to work hard!

NO I don't think so.. I really don't have much to complain about personaly. I have a high paying PERA job with tenure and I get to impart my views on young people. The people that should be spitful are the old and the poor. their getting taken for a ride and the don't even know it.

mmmm lets see 28% property tax hike this year. 30% utilities increase in the last 2 years and another 10% in '08(Thats a fee not a tax ) You ever been on a fixed income or no income at all? The States Renewable Energy Mandate will force us all to pay more for energy then ever before and taxes will continue to rise....
