The 28% raise in property taxes is paying for the state tax cut. Cities need LGA, they will get it somehow. Your taxes are up somewhat, but when taken in unison with your tax cuts you are breaking close to even. Your taxes are the only things that keep alot of poor and elderly afloat.

I've finally accepted Minneapolis as my home city. But I still have my dream vacations.

it is a state to live in... nothing special...
has the normal creepy humans you find everywhere... i guess..
don't care for winter driving, but i live...
wish others would consider driving the speed limit though...
or that people understood what "yield" mean....
seriously people... learn to yield... just b/c your car is:
bigger, more expensive, or nicer... does not mean you have the right way.
sorry. i deal with these people daily...394, 35w....grrr.

in all reality, i have not been outside minnesota...
so nothing to compare it all too...

Minnesota, simply, is a state that HAS IT'S 'STUFF' TOGETHER. Period.

I knew this when I left Minnesota, and while I don't regret moving out, it is still true. Minnesota government works as well as any other state, and far better than most. Schools are good and efficient. Crime is low. The economy almost always hums at a rate ahead of the nation as a whole. The state is clean. The roads are good.

Oh, sure, you can complain about all the things I cited, but stack them up against the other 49 states and Minnesota comes out very close to the top.

I hated the weather. Just hated it. But I will say this - I miss October. October in the upper Midwest is glorious.

It seems to me like MN is just lie anywhere else. There is good, there is bad. Nice people and jerks, etc. Everwhere is going to be give and take. I am politically conservative, but I am still thinking about moving to MN for other reasons. Besides, Minnesota politics are probably nothing compared to Michigan where I grew up. I just don't think there is a better area of the country than the Great Lakes.

I can't stand Minnesota. These are by far some of the rudest people I have ever met. You can have a better and more intelligent conversation with a department store mannequin.

If you are not from Minnesota they treat you as if you are a leper.
