It is so cold in Minnesota that I call my daughter in Minnesota from Alaska and laugh at her! It is so cold in Minnesota, that summering in Minnesota and wintering in Alaska seems like a good plan! Call it a former Minnesotan's snow bird phenomena.

It is so cold in Minnesota that my nasal passages froze up when I went outside. I made a mistake of sneezing and my eyeballs popped out of their sockets and flew into a snow bank. Took me over an hour to find them while crawling around in the snow!

Reminds me of those "I like my coffee like I like my women..." lines:

- mixed up and chock full of chemicals,
- warm, fuming, and a little nutty,
- keeping me awake all night,
- wet, scalding hot and all over my lap.
- ground up into bits and stored in a freezer, to lock in the freshness.
- cool, thin, fresh - and richer than me.

"Coffee leads men to trifle away their time, scald their chops, and spend their money, all for a little base, black, thick, nasty, bitter, stinking nauseous puddle water. "
~The Women's Petition Against Coffee, 1674

Checking the weather up in Alaska and it is -35F in Fairbanks, -51 in Fort Yukon, -11F in Barrow and 11 F in Anchorage. Its not supposed to get above zero in the interior for the next 10 days at least and has been below zero since the end of November. I'm not sure I would exactly prefer a winter in Alaska vs Minnesota. Not to mention that there is much less sun light up there this time of the year.
