I go to Beaux Le Tress on Lake and Pillsbury in Minneapolis. Not the greatest neighborhood ever, but I think all the ladies there do a good job.

Malobe in Minneapolis is not the place to go if you're looking for natural hair styles that don't involve braids. What I've found is that many salons including Malobe tend to say the specialize in natural hair, but really only specialize in braids, locs, and extensions. I'm a mixed chick (Cuban and Black) with a head full of big, puffy, curly hair. After transitioning for a year I went in for the big chop and a style consultation thinking they could help me find products here to moisturize and elongate my curls. (I'm originally from NC and used to use Miss Jessie's products, but they don't sell them here and the shipping on their website is almost as pricey as the products.) I went in for an Erica Badu and came out an Oh no she didn't! Not only did they not even have correct products to use on my hair, but she kept telling me I needed to add texture! I don't need 2 strand flat twists people, I already have curly hair! What I needed was a good old jar of Kinky Curling Custard, a rat tail comb, and a stylist that knew what she was doing. Next time i'll keep my $40, head over to Empire beauty school for a cut and roll across the river to the white girls at Stormsister Spatique in St Paul for product. They're who are the only ones that sell KCC in the entire state! So if you're looking for natural hair care in the Twin Cities do your homework or you'll end up at a glorified braid shop like I did

Also, I've just relocated to Covington, LA and am looking for a "natural" hair stylist. I am transitioning and have been for several months now. But can't seem to find someone who handles "natural hair, that doesn't involve braids or locs. So if anyone knows of a place in New Orleans, or better yet, closer to Covington, LA I'd appreciate a heads up. Thanks.

I don't think hair stylists care if hair is black, blonde, gray, green, or purple.
Minnesota is fairly non-racist.

hair
I'm sure they may be non-racist, but not all stylist can work African American hair properly.
