I've got a huge problem, which I can't deal with. My task is to write about white-black female friendship in Southern cinematography and I have no idea about it as I'm from Poland. Could you please help me and write titles of the movies which more or less deal with this subject. I'm really desperate so plese help!

The easiest one comes to mind is "gone with the wind." Both the book and film are very well known. You should have no problem finding prodigious study material.

Hmmmm..... What about "The Help". It's a pretty good book discussing relationships between white women and black women in Mississippi during the early 1960s.

The movie based on the book, The Help, that came out last year is about to start filming in Mississippi. You should order the book off the internet and read it. I haven't read it but know someone who did and said she couldn't put the book down it was so good, and realistic for that era.

The Secret Life of Bees is a FANTASTIC book/movie! You should check it out as it crosses the racial barriers and focuses on how we can find "family" in any loving environment! Its characters are a young white girl, her absent/abusive father, her quest to know more about her mother who died and the young girl's journey (with a black maid) to a small Southern town to find a place that was dear to her mother where the young girl found a strong black family of women who once loved and provided a home for her mother. EXCELLENT!
