I've been back a week now, I spent two days in your state. One the 4th I stayed in Vicksburg and saw the fireworks, and earlier that evening we saw the historic downtown. I thought it was spectacular how they were shooting the fireworks all off a barge of the river. The next day I went to go and see the national battlefield, I never truely knew what the sacrifices of the men in the Civil War were all about (on both sides).
We went on to see Natchez, but didn't stay, but they have some nice churches down there (the Angelican one was huge!). And then we went on to Louisiana. The rural areas of Wilkinson county and a few of the others south of Vicksburg were beautiful. I never saw so much steam coming off from the roads!
And the few people we did speak with were very nice to us.
I only regret that I didn't see more of your state.

Sounds like you got a nice slice of Mississippi. And yes, steam bath is the only way to describe this time of the year. OMG. But alas, October will arrive.
