The new "riverbend town" they just approved is going to make the area explode!
They are going to basiclly build a whole new city from the ground up.

I have lived in Hernando for about five years now and honestly would not move to any other community in the area. Maybe Lewisburg but I still consider that Hernando. It is a small little town that, even with all the growth, tries to stay close to its historic roots. Horn Lake, in my opinion, is just as much a part of Memphis as Whitehaven, TN and Southaven is not far behind. It is nice to have the shopping so close to home but it is even nicer being able to leave the city traffic and noise to come home to a place you can sit out back and actually still hear the birds, cricketts, owls, etc. at night.

My husband and I were married a little over a year ago and plan on staying in the Hernando/Lewisburg area for the schools. We love the education the schools provide and the close knit feeling you get from being in such a small community. Actually, my nephew moved to Pennsylvania a few months ago and he is actually a grade level ahead of the schools there. See, we're not all barefoot and pregnant .

Seriously, we would love to welcome you to our community and show you all the great things this area and our beautiful state has to offer. Good luck on your decision making and we'll see you soon!!!

Stay far far away from Horn Lake, trust me.
The only place in the county worth considering is Hernando and SOME places in Southaven and Olive Branch.

i live in olive branch off college road and love it. I have 3000sq ft home sitting on 1 acre of land, its beautiful and we love the neighborhood. Kids in the streets playing, adults walking around, friendly dogs and cats, town is nice and clean, people generally using their southern charm. At least i dont have to pay king willie the memphis mayor a penny for anything anymore. He is a first class A.

Wow ! I've heard some wonderful comments about Hernando. My family and I will soon be moving to that area. Was also "considering" Walls....but Hernando sounds better. Have 4 sons, one will be away at college, but the other three are 15, 12 and 10, and I really need to get them in top notch schools. We will have to rent for now, I'm looking for a rental home, at least 3 beds / 2 baths, nice neighborhood in Hernando. Got any suggestions ?? What would be the average rent for a 3 or 4 bedroom house in Hernando ??
