Good Morning All!
I recently accepted my first job as a speech pathologist. I will be working in two nursing home facilities, one in Hattiesburg and the other in Collins.
I will be starting my job around August 13 so, I need to find an apt. I would really appreciate any direction you could provided regarding safe, reasonably priced apts.
I'm interested in establishing myself as a young professional. I would like to venture away from the "college life" a bit. However, I'm kind of still living on an beer budget!
Any suggestions about moving to Hattiesburg would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Ya-Ya
There are tons of apartments. I know little but I do think west of Hwy 59 will offer more upscale and professional as opposed to college students. The Mark VI and VII behind the Grand theatre are new and a possibility as well.

Ya-Ya-There is a forum My Hattiesburg Community that has a few "sticky" topics at the top of the board for newcomers--apartments. jobs, etc.

Husband and I lived in Fountainbleau on West 4th when we were there...yes it caters mostly to students, with a few retirees, but surprisingly it's very quiet! Maintenance is great, the landlady is very attentive (without being nosy), and the remodels I saw last year were great (not that they all needed them). One thing...last I saw them (June '06) they still had blue tarps from Katrina, don't know if the roofs have been repaired--should have been by now!

Heather, go for places west of 98. Park West and The Reserve are the best in that area. You are going to have some college kids, but if your just starting a new job your probably not too uptight about that yet. Those apts. will be the best for meeting new people as well.
