I am a high school senior that was accepted to Ole Miss. I fell in love with the scenery and the campus. It also was one of the best for my degree program. The thing is that I don't drink and I am not a party animal. So is this a bad choice to attend here? I am also from up north and have no southern accent.

I'm sure you'll find like-minded people. I wouldn't worry about that.

You're going to love Ole Miss! You won't be the only one not from the south. Ole Miss has students from all over the world. It does have a reputation as a party school, but most of the kids are no where near "party animals".

My oldest is there now. And 36 members of my family are Ole Miss grads. We also lived in Oxford for several years.

I was born in Mississippi and still have lots of family all over the state. I wouldn't live in Mississippi again for all the money in the world...except maybe in the city of Oxford.

You'll be fine as long as you stay away from Vaught-Hemingway stadium - that place will just get your hopes up in the summer and then let you down in the fall.

I couldn't resist...

Actually, I think you could say something similar about all of their athletic facilities.......

You see staying away from the football stadium will be a problem. I am a huge sports person. I plan to go to every sports event while I'm there.
