Unhappy Relocation and horses

As I have said in replies in other posts, we are leaving MS.

Problem is that I can afford to only take one of my three horses. It was a tough decision b/c I am very close to two of them (the third is my husband's). Ultimately, I made the decision to keep the one that I have had the longest.

I have decided, rather than selling, to donate my horses. Unfortunately, MSU has a rather long and drawn out process for donating horses to their program. I don't have time to be long and drawn out. If, at the end of their two-month trial period (where I am responsible for all of the expenses), they decide that they do not one or either horse, I have to return to get them, which will not feasible. I will be 1,000miles away and I only have enough money in my budget to board one.

Are there any REAL equestrian centers where I can donate my horses and ensure that they will have good homes? MS is not known for their animal advocacy. Anyone can open a center, rescue or shelter. I can name a couple... actually... that should be shutdown and never be allowed to even possess a goldfish.

Here's the other fun part: I ride english. One horse has NEVER had a western saddle on his back! The other has, but only for trail riding. There isn't a lot of english MS. Oh, there are a few - Canton, Desoto, Oxford... a few... But MS isn't exactly a hot bed of hunter/jumpers.

All I want is to find loving homes for my two horses. I hate that I can't take them, but I can't. There just isn't anything else to add. I want to know that they are safe and happy.

Can anyone think of a reputable and established riding center or therapeutic center that would appreciate a horse or two?
