Looking in Saltillo (Tupelo, New Albany, Pontotoc: homes, buying, schools)

Is there anyone that can give me more info about Saltillo, MS. I found an ad for property on Birminham Ridge Rd, but am having trouble locating it on the map.

I spent almost a year looking for a home in the Tupelo area. I looked in Saltilo, Tupelo, New Albany and Pontotoc. Schools are all OK to good, with some a little better than others. Taxes are what I found to really stink! Saltilo schools are not as good as there taxes are high. But, that will be your choice. A GOOD web site to look and see what is listed on MLS is, www.tmhomes.com. They, overall are as good as any, and better than others. I am buying in Pontotoc MS, which is about a 20 min drive west of Tupleo.

I grew up in that area. LOVED IT!!!

Birmingham Ridge is probably the best place to buy property in that area. My aunt and uncle still live out there. It is still quite there but lots of growth around it.

If you are looking at a map of Mississippi find Tupelo then look for Highway 45 (not old HWY45) and follow that north. When you see Highway 45 interset with Old Highway 145 go West. I would say Birmingham Ridge is about 5 miles from the interstate on the right.

Schools are GREAT and the community is very close.
