Starshine480,

That it is kind of strange that most men I know love to golf. Now me I never could get into it for some reason although I tried several times.

Give me a pond, a creek, river or lake, some bait and a pole or rod and reel any day and I am a happy camper. Guess it probably goes back to going fishing with my dad so much as a youngster. In the old days he and I use to walk as much as 5 miles each way to go fishing.

I am hoping that if we sell the place here I can land someplace where I can wet a hook without having to travel a ways.

Batesville and Oxford are wonderful places to live. I am from Batesville and moved to Houston,Tx. in 1977. I will be going to Batesville to visit my family in Dec.and it just feels so good to be back and be around realy nice people. Also I love to visit Oxford when I go back. If I were moving back to Mississippi I would move to Oxford. Good people in Mississippi.

Default Country living

If you are looking for small town country living, check out the Laurel/Jones County area. Wonderful place to live. We have everything you need right here. And Hattiesburg is only 20 minutes away if you want a bigger selection for shopping, restaurant, etc. Great schools, public and private. Awesome churches. Lots of small town hospitality.

I lived in Oxford since 99, the housing rate here is no where near high compared to NY or Florida. It you want a little space and an easy going lifestyle, you should check out Taylor, MS. It is a community on the edge of Oxford. Great living and so much peace and quit. You get a nice fairly new 3 bedroom/ 2 bath for 200,000 there.
