I didn't say you couldn't get good BBQ in MS... on the contrary, this thread is filled with recommendations for places to go for this. I said MS isn't known for good BBQ. If you were to ask anyone to name a city or state famous for BBQ, you'd hear locations like Memphis, Kansas City, Texas, etc.

That's what I saying earlier. they posted a couple links showing BBQ winners, but as a rule people don't say Mississippi and BBQ in the same sentence. It's always, Texas or Memphis for the most part.

Could that be a testiment to the actual taste and process of the Q?

Because you know right off when you've eaten Memphis BBQ and Texas BBQ. it's a no-brainer.

Yes BBQ exists in MS!
Where? - my backyard.
What? - Pork Butts, Beef Brisket, Turkey. Basically anything that crawls, swims, or walks on hoves, using a weber smoker, and standard charcoal, and assorted fruit woods depending on my mood.

Best commercial BBQ in Memphis by the way is over the border (just barely) in MS - Stateline BBQ. Dont' forget Memphis stradles the border of MS.

That was a good song and so true. I'm partial to NC BBQ though. Can't beat it.
