My guess is that when you live in a modest house that cost you 500k to buy plus the 15k a year in property taxes .....and that you spend 75 hours a week working and commuting for.....you have to manufacture ways for the rest of the country to suck even worse.
Definitely a broad brush. You can buy a large ranch house in NH for 170K with 3K in property taxes.

Nah, if I've learned anything from the coastal media, my sweeping generalizations of entire portions of the country are correct.

Now if you will excuse me I've got to go protest at some soldiers funeral before removing all the evolution talk from our kids text books.

It's pointless trying to convince someone who has their mind made up about something. I don't even care anymore. It's gotten old.

GOOD ONE LOL LOL LOL !!!!!!!!
I bin lurking for a while this post got me typing, I for one could never live like that, MS is a big plus for me i like hard work but not 75hrs week for an overpriced home (JUST MY OPINION DONT FLAME ME). MS allows to slow down and enjoy the fruits of your labor u dont spend hrs in traffic.

Actually it is east/west coasters and the Southerners--all have the same provincial attitude if they haven't been outside their world or actually seen that area they are disparaging. I have heard the Southern bashing of the North and West coast constantly while I have been living in Mississippi for years. And then when I am back home I hear the most ignorant comments about my adopted state.

For those who care---- New Jersey is not a concrete jungle but rather the Garden State. New Yorkers are NOT rude, in general. California is not a conclave of hippies and has many small communities and beautiful rural areas that have good traditional lifestyles. And Mississippi is not hot swampland filled with feverish racists but is a state with gentility personified.

A sign that said "No Negro allowed ever". I saw a sign that had the Confederat flags and it said "White only".

Unless this was in a trailer park, I cannot believe that this is true.

I totally agree Nancy. I have been in Mississippi for forty years and have been around and about including the Delta and some backwoods areas. Never ever have I seen such signage--and the particular language used here would be even more peculiar if someone had such ill-intent and decided to publicly post it. Furthur, how long would it take for repercussions to occur from this
type of incendiary display? About 24 hours would be my guess--Mississsippi would not tolerate it--not in today's world. Afican-Americans have power now and would absolutely not abide it.
