You'd do better posting pictures of the good scenery of Jackson than spouting vitriol in return to a simple question.

to the OP, it's nice areas in Jackson, not many, but yes, there are some. I'll try to post some pics of some nice areas if I can.
It was ther perfect response to a dumb question that could have been answered via Google.

NO it wasn't, It was sensitive kneejerk response to an average question. and if Google is the answer to everything, why are YOU here?

Tense much?

As much as Mississippians talk Southern Hospitality, you sure don't show it.

Mississippi does have plenty of problems, but judging an entire state just by reviewing "journalism" of the slumiest ares of Jackson as shown on youtube is ridiculous. You could say the same thing about most other states, and in each case it would be wrong. Western New York is absolutely nothing like NYC. Northern California is nothing like South-Central Los Angeles. The bootheel of Missouri is nothing like St. Louis. The upper peninsula is nothing like the slums of Detroit.

And believe it or not, there are quite a few places in Mississippi that are absolutely nothing like the poorest neighborhoods in Jackson.

Out of idle curiosity, I scanned through some of your posts. Other than a few discussing the NFL, they're pretty much all attacks or insults aimed at other posters, or Mississippi people in general. What is your intent? To spread bile and vitriol? To lower a usually civil discussion group down to the level of your average sports insult group? To p*** off every other person on this site?

Pretty hot and bothered are we?...haha...drink some wine, you'll be ok.

Fact is, I just got to this site and immediately went to the forum I know a lot about. Now whether you call it "attacks' or "slander" or whatever your favorite word is, first call it FACTS. because that's all I've been speaking on the Mississippi forum.

You just have trouble communicating so you went off on the poster. It was a poor response, period. Very telling of the attitudes and intellect of most people from Mississippi...save ME... I have a little bit more class and tact.

You want to fight everybody that challenges your way of life in Mississippi? Then post some things that counter their insults, if you think so. Trying to lurch at people for asking a simple question only proves their theories right, however negative they may be. You play right into their hands.

And I'm not spreading vitriol, I'm responding to the OP's TRUTHFULLY and FACTUALLY from MY POV. try it sometimes. Your conscience will thank you.

If you read some of The Arch's posts you will find he asks similar questions about several different areas.

He's just curious, I guess.

I mean, let's face it. People are curious about Mississippi. A lot of people think they have seen Mississippi because they watched "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? They don't know.

I saw an interview with the well known actor, Arliss Howard. He had played a part in a movie about Mississippi, Old man, and in the course of the interview he said, "I mean, these people are from Mississippi! They don't talk much."
Funny on one hand, but a little sad, too. But that's what people think.

*sigh*... I'm sitting here with an incredulous look on my face. I think it was the "save ME " bit that really puts it over the top. There's really nothing I can say here that would do any good whatsoever.

Except, two old sayings come to mind. First is a quote by the writer Samuel Clemons, "Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience." The second is more recent and more germane to this situation, "Never argue with an idiot. Bystanders won't be able to tell the difference." I fell into the trap, and there's no way for me to win.

And now that the thread has transformed from a junior-high school question about whether an entire state is accurately represented by amateur videos shot for shock value to whether or not truckin's POV is in fact "FACTUAL", maybe a kind moderator will put it out of its misery.
