The Delta is "wet". I can buy a lot of different beers here in Cleveland, even foreign ones.

God bless,

CKB

In Simpson County, the town of Magee allows the sale of beer. Restaurants, however, cannot sell alcohol. My fiance (who's from Magee) heard they might allow newly built restaurants to sell beer but I don't know if that's happened yet.

I'm kind of shocked that there are still "dry" counties left in the US! Is this some religious thing?

I expect to see a LOT more draft brew houses and mirco-brewerys taking full advantage of this move. The flood gates are open.

So far I like this new Governor

YOU know best though. Can we just ban beer for everyone EXCEPT you?
Budweiser was never banned but you had no problem with that? why now?

And studies have already proven that people are less likely to control their eating habits vs. their drinking habits.

Hence the show "Fat and Fatter" and highlighted Mississippi since it's the most obese land in North America.

Now when they do a show called "Drunk and Drunker" and highlight Mississippi, THEN I'll raise my flag.

Until then...I could use a cold draft pint right now.

Lazy Magnolia Brewery (of Kiln MS) is one of my favorite brewers - looking for some great new brews from Leslie...

Raise your Pints (grassroots lobbying group) successfully lobbied for changing the ABWeight in MS from 5% to 8% - Thanks Gov Bryant and legislators who voted to grow Mississippi's beer culture, create and expand business opportunity, and create jobs.

Disclosure - I contributed to Raise your Pints.

Kinda slow aren't you? I don't have a problem with beer, food, or even marijuana being sold legally if it comes to that. Let me explain it to you. Listen closely.

In the Mississippi eating habits thread you wanted to ban fast food and buffets because they make people fat. You obviously know better than the rest of the people of Mississippi and feel a need to protect them from themselves.

I thought it ironic that you are just fine with beer, even though it makes people fat. It appears you are ok with beer because it is something you like.

This sounded to me as if you think we should only have the things you like available, nevermind they may not be good for you. It sounded hypocritical.

I have already stated my belief that people should be able to make their own choices of what they eat or drink regardless of whether I support it or not, instead of the perceived big brother view you have.

If you don't eat and drink responsibly then you get fat, but you should have the freedom and choice to eat whatever you like.

In closing, I am fine with whatever is out there, save for hard drugs such as cocaine, etc.

Get it now?
