Hey, that's great news! Why were these types of beers banned before?

That's good news. Don't drink too much of it though FreePress, it leads to obesity. Better not say that, you may want to ban it. hehe

Seriously though. If someone with some sense could do away with prohibition in select counties in this state that would be great too.

Some stupid law that was put in place eons ago having to do with alcohol by volume percentages or something stupid like that.

I honestly think it was a Monopoly put in place via lobby by Budweiser and Miller at the time because those are the ONLY brands that dominated in Mississippi.

Now we can finally taste GOOD Beers from around the world whenever they start to ship and stock the shelves here in Mississippi

and I for one, am sooooo ready! Bring on the WARSTEINER!!!

No worries there. I drink beer but I'm smart enough to run it off and not sit on the couch and let it collect on my gut.

Agreed. I'm moving to dry Smith County (temporarily). Does that ever come up though, doing away with dry counties?

Never. Way too many dyed-to-the-wool Bible thumpers in Mississippi to even consider changing something like that if it wasn't already a wet county.

You best bet is to move to a Metro area like Jackson, Biloxi or Tupelo so you can enjoy your beer without harrasment, tickets or jail time.

Take Pearl, Mississippi for example. it's butted up next to Jackson(Hinds county), which is a wet county, but one wrong turn and you're in Pearl county,a dry county. and the Police will be sitting there waiting for you.

People in Pearl get drunk in Jackson then go home to Pearl.

I see. Let's NOT ban beer because you like it and you can control yourself when drinking it, even though many people CANNOT and end up fat and/or alcoholics.

BUT, let's ban fast food because you don't like it. Gotcha. Even though many people control themselves as well when eating.

YOU know best though. Can we just ban beer for everyone EXCEPT you?

I don't drink as much beer as I want to. I don't drink as much coffee as I would like to. I don't eat as much as want to eat. I am careful with how I live so that I can be as old as my dad and then take dozens of types of meds so that I can pee, not hurt, think right, be regular... and so on.

I do not believe this change will make much difference other than giving everyone an opportunity to try something different. If someone wants to get drunk or high, they will always find a way.

Pearl, MS is in Rankin County. They sell beer in Pearl, MS. You should go walk some laps over there and expand your horizons.
