My dog loves pig ears, but no way would one ever pass my lips.

That's what I was thinking, but i didn't want to be the first to say it because someone may accuse me of arguing. I have NEEEEEVER even heard of a pig ear sandwich before this thread. Not trying to argue, don't want to.... but usually when I hear something inaccurate I say something about it. I bit my tongue this time though.
I think those hots sound pretty good though.

Lying? Fool! Over 70 years in business don't lie!
Not even Stamps or E&L can call that.
and just because you don't eat em, don't mean 99% of the rest of the city don't eat em. They LOVE em!!

Mississippi born and bred. I'm not from Jackson, but never heard of a pig ear sandwich. If they are as popular as you say, then that's cool, but I wouldn't eat one.... and I have eaten some off the wall stuff before.

Never heard of it either, and I AM from Jackson, born and raised there, family STILL there, visit there regularly, and never, ever, ever heard of this delicacy until today. I would swallow my own tongue before such a thing would enter my mouth. If it was such a common staple, I gotta believe I would have at least heard of it sometime since 1957.

You're not from Jackson. don't lie. If you was, those words wouldn't crack the crevace of your lips. Because people from around the state who've been there can vouch for it. You just proved you don't know much about Jackson. and you need to get out more.
That's so funny...If you was born and raised in Jackson and NEVER went to Big John's, then I'm Dick Clark's ghost. ...LOL

FreePress, I want to apologize to you brother. From my Google searches it appears the pig ear sandwich is pretty popular in Jackson. 99%? Probably not, but popular with a certain crowd anyway. A guy from Memphis was even inspired by Big Apple Inn to open a restaurant that serves pig ear sandwiches and smokes. One thing I do have to call you on though, it's NOT a staple in Jackson, which would explain why some people from Jackson have never heard of it. A staple to a certain crowd maybe.

I still stand by my assertion that I will NEVER eat a pig ear sandwich. hehe
