My wife and I (middle 60's) want to travel the blues highway in june. see BB King museum, crossroads and such as I am also a musician. Been reading some of the post on these areas and they don't seem to safe. Any info would be helpful. Places to stay, things to see. Any place we should not go.

The Delta is perfectly safe, except for Greenville. Downtown Clarksdale has several clubs and juke joints whereas downtown Greenwood is known for the classic Alluvian hotel and several great restaurants in town. Vicksburg is known for its beautiful battlefields and Natchez is where the huge antebellum mansions are.

I agree. The is nothing dangerous about the delta.

We just made a trip through Clarksdale. Recommendations:
Stay at the Shack Up Inn. Make it a Thursday or Friday night if you can, and hang around the bar, which sits inside the old cotton gin house. And in Clarksdale visit The Blues Museum, of course, and go to the Ground Zero Bar and Grill to hear the live music, but also drop by Stan Street's Hambone - call them and see who is playing and when. We saw Fiona Boyes there and bought a CD from her. (If you haven't heard Fiona you should look her up)

How about Indianola. I read on here that the cops harrass people, is that correct. Looking for a relaxing time, not time filled with tension.
